This article deals with the characteristics and economic benefits of fuels for passenger cars, which are used in the European Union. The fuels used as power source for passenger cars are described in detail, including their advantages and disadvantages. At the end of the article, the result of the model for calculating the cost of individual fuels, which the user spends within the life cycle of a passenger car, is presented. Based on the results and subsequent analysis of the model, the advantages and disadvantages of the fuels used in terms of financial demands are expressed. The article was created at the turn of March and April 2022, when the prices of energy commodities, including fuels, change in unpredictable ways. The source of the prices of selected fuels used to calculate the cost of driving passenger cars comes from Germany, as it is the largest country in the European Union.
