Ride comfort can be measured using different approaches. Road profile is the one of most important factors that affect the comfortability of passengers in a driving car. Road profile also affect the vehicle performance and characteristics. A low cost and easy-to-get device is developed. This device consists of Arduino, 1Sheeld and a smartphone. Smartphones and tablets have become an integral part of this modern society. Different sensors are installed in the smartphone especially the accelerometer. With this sensor, acceleration data can get collected and analyzed. There are a large number of people using the road every day, thus the road profile should be concerned. The aim of this thesis is to develop a data logger system for driving car analysis. The system can collect the real time acceleration data on different road profile. Different speed is considered because the road profile may give impact to the vehicle stability and ride comfort. There are four different road profile which are smooth road surface, rough road surface, cobbled road surfaces and the yellow lines road surfaces. The rough road surface have the highest peak acceleration value which give the extremely uncomfortable to the passengers. Although the data maybe not accurate due to the frequency problems, the results showed the device is successfully developed and used to get the acceleration data on different road profile.
