In this paper, a rate limit control scheme based on model reference adaptive control is studied for longitudinal motion of civil aircraft with actuator failure and saturation nonlineanty. Both actuator failures and constraints are important factors that affect the stability and performance of the flight control system. As described above, the fault tolerance control method is adjusted by using an adaptive law based on a Lyapunov function. Addition and multiplication faults are considered in the designed controller to deal with loss of effectiveness of actuator failure. In addition, the basic controller and the fault-tolerant controller use different technologies for their different constructions to end. Proof of the stability of the two improved controllers is proposed. These improved controllers improve the performance of the control system operating in the presence of actuator failure and saturation. Finally, numerical examples of anti-saturation fault-tolerant controllers for civil aircraft are presented. The proposed fault-tolerant control scheme can improve stability and performance.
