This paper presents a systematic analysis and control of an isolated Quad Active Bridge (QAB) converter designed for electric vehicle (EV) charging. The QAB converter features four ports which are connected to a solar photovoltaic panel, grid, battery energy storage system (BESS), and an EV charging port. A high-frequency, multi-winding transformer interconnects all ports, facilitating efficient energy transfer and isolation. This paper presents a detailed mathematical analysis of a decoupled control technique for a QAB converter that enables independent power flow control between the sources. Simulation results for a 10 kW system validate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
