In order to improve the safety level of highway long tunnel, the visual reference frame of the tunnel was reconstructed based on line-of-sight guidance technology, which proposed to use shading sheds, reflective strips and rings as improvement facilities to optimize the tunnel light environment. Twenty subjects were recruited to carry out driving simulation test, and the characterization data of longitudinal driving states such as speed, acceleration and accelerator pedal were extracted and analyzed. Finally, the technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution (TOPSIS) method was adopted to evaluate the improvement scheme. The statistical results show that the average speed, acceleration standard deviation, and throttle efficiency of the driver in the optimized scenario are lower than those of the conventional scenario from 300m in front of the tunnel to the exit of the tunnel, and the acceleration fluctuation range of the optimized scenario is smaller than that of the conventional scenario. The results of TOPSIS suggested that the safety, comfort, and stability of the driver's performance in the optimized scene have been improved. The findings have certain reference significance for improving the safety of the freeway tunnel area.
