This paper discusses the prediction and monitoring of system integrity in the position domain. Combining two recently developed concepts for positioning performance assessment and optimization, it shows how optimized parameter estimation can be achieved. The paper shows how this optimization can be applied in a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) environment for combining the measurements from multiple receivers to obtain optimally estimated differential corrections, or to combine the measurements from multiple satellites to obtain optimal integrity in the position estimate.
