Vehicle networking is an important part of modern intelligent transportation system. Most of the existing vehicle networking is based on the central structure, this structure is prone to single point of failure, resulting in paralysis of the entire system. Therefore, in order to increase the network fault tolerance and maintain the stability of the network system, this paper proposes a vehicle network model based on peer to peer network. In this model, the base station and the roadside units will no longer be necessary facilities. The vehicles can be used as relay to directly participate in the exchange and transfer of information. In this paper, the feasibility of the vehicle network is proved by time delay analysis. In comparison with the traditional centralized network structures, the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the proposed peer to peer network is better.
