The paper present a control strategy for nine phase maglev permanent magnet synchronous planar motors driven by composite current. Maglev planar motor driven by composite current can increase the utilization of the winding and reduce the mass of the mover of the maglev planar motor with moving coil type structure. As a result, the dynamic performance of the motor can be increased. The basic structure and operational principle of the composite current driven maglev planar motor are introduced in the paper. The mathematical model based on its special structure and the d-q coordinate transformation due to the composite current driving are also presented in the paper. Current distribution matrix is used to decouple the 6 degrees of freedom of the motor. The simulation result proves that it has both high stability and high-speed dynamic performance.
