We present a laser system designed to produce 5 fs, 10 mJ laser pulses with stable carrier-envelope phase at a repetition rate of up to 1 kHz. The system uses OPCPA as it enables ultrashort pulses to be amplified to much higher energies than are currently available from Ti:Sapphire CPA systems. Through high-harmonic generation, our OPCPA design will enable efficient production of isolated attosecond pulses for molecular physics and surface science experiments by the UK Attosecond Basic Technology Consortium.
