● An event may be important for a variety of reasons - Appears multiple times throughout ISAM - Appears in ESDs that have high contribution to accident frequencies - Is a significant event within an ESD ● # of observations is not a perfect predictor of sensitivity ● Many common events identified in single ESD and full ISAM analysis - ‘ATC does not resolve the conflict’, ‘Flight crew does not maintain control’, ‘Sufficient braking not accomplished’, ‘Insufficient runway length remaining’, etc. ● For pivotal events, top 10 list is similar using accident and fatality metrics, different for fault-tree events ● Results complementary to other “top n” lists.
