In modern road networks, the number of intelligent driverless cars will gradually increase. In the foreseeable years, a mixture of driverless and manned vehicles will be a prominent feature. Our study focuses on the influence of driverless cars on traffic efficiency. Because of the imperfection of autonomous driving regulations, we proposed some safe driving rules for autonomous vehicles in explicit and implicit aspects based on RSS (Responsibility Sensitive Safety model). According to these rules, we establish a new automated driving transmission model which combines the advantage of ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) and IDM (Intelligent Driver Model). Based on Simulation of Urban Mobility (SUMO), we analyzed the impact of different proportions of autonomous vehicles on traffic efficiency on expressways and large mixed intersections in cities.
