It is difficult to receive GPS signals from GPS satellites directly in many skyscrapers environments. So, many reflected GPS signals make the calculated distance error performance worst because of their longer pseudo ranges than those of the direct signals. The elevation mask is one of the most effective technologies to improve calculated distance error performances by eliminating the reflected signals as possible. But, assuming that the reflected signals are eliminated for position calculation, the number of receivable GPS signals might be less than 4 by larger elevation mask in many skyscrapers environments. Therefore, it is likely to use the pseudo ranges of the reflected signals aggressively which are eliminating by elevation mask. In this paper, we propose a planar approximation method and an estimation model that can estimates the number of reflections and the incident angles by the received GPS signal power. By computer simulation, our proposal improves the calculated distance error performances, for example maximum distance error performance had been improved by 182.4m compared to the conventional GPS position calculation.
