Vehicular telematics such as car navigation systems, traffic information systems, and location-based systems (LBS) are getting popular. However, contents for vehicular telematics are generated by multiple contents providers and their data formats are not compatible. Thus, it is difficult to integrate or exchange contents, e.g., navigation maps, traffic information, points of interest (POI), etc., for various telematics services. In this paper, we propose a telematics contents gateway (TCG) system, which enables the system to integrate different telematics contents, so that the contents can be interoperable. The proposed TCG supports a search function based on a web-service technology. In addition, it provides a common road network model for interoperability, integrating different road network models into the common model. In the experiments, it is verified that there is no information loss in the integration process and the processing time is satisfied for the requirement of telematics service providers (TSP).
