The speedy development of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) has acquired great awareness in modern years. ADAS has enhanced safety and decreases the threat of accidents. The objective of the paper is to review the research work and study the different techniques and methods used for developing ADAS. There are many ADAS applications however we have studied some of the applications that include Traffic Sign Recognition, Pedestrian Detection, Vehicle Detection and Inter-Vehicle Distance. We have also reviewed the algorithms and their challenges that are needed to implement some of the applications of ADAS. This paper is formed on complete review of available literature, reports and publications. Eventually this paper gives understanding for researchers and industry stakeholders concerned in the expansion of ADAS automation.
