The growing electrification of transport has prompted researchers to examine control methods for various electric machines. One such machine is double-inverter fed wound rotor induction machine (DI-WRIM). Field oriented control (FOC), direct torque control (DTC) and current oriented control (COC) techniques are often employed for this machine. Proportional+integral (PI) based FOC is the most popular closed loop control for a DI-WRIM drive. This paper tends to explore the DI-WRIM drive's performance with proportional+resonant control (PR) and hysteresis control. Further, the comparative results are presented for all the techniques. The efficacy of these techniques is validated through suitable simulation and experimental results.
