Under subway station operation environment, guide signs provide direction and path change information to passengers. Therefore, in subway stations, reasonableness of guide sign setting directly affects wayfinding efficiency of passengers. At present, most researches on guide sign setting are based on computer simulation, but few consider pedestrians' cognitive law and their behavioral characteristics in subway stations. On the basis of physiology and psychology analysis, this study designed pedestrian wayfinding tracking test and investigated pedestrian behavioral characteristics at different sites in subway stations (station hall, platform, stairs, etc.). Combined with pedestrians' demands for information and setting principles of guide signs, guide sign setting methods at different locations in subway stations were obtained. It was concluded that the optimization of guide signs can improve the efficiency of pedestrians' wayfinding by combining environmental characteristics and pedestrians' behavioral characteristics in subway stations. The results could provide theoretical reference for the optimization of subway station interior guide signs.
