We demonstrate that ionic self-assembled multilayers (ISAM) adsorbed on long period gratings (LPG) function effectively as biosensors. Theoretical simulations and experimental measurements confirm that ISAM-coated-LPGs provide a thermally-stable, reusable platform for building efficient optical sensors.
