Urban road traffic is an important part of urban traffic operation system, and traffic safety facilities play a key role in ensuring driving safety and reducing accident risk. This paper starts with the analysis of the development of urban traffic safety facilities in China, investigates the classification of urban road safety facilities and the protection of urban road facilities in China, and obtains the optimization method by analyzing and demonstrating the data. Then, taking Hefei as an example, the local transportation facilities in Hefei were investigated on the spot, and the survey results were analyzed and demonstrated by taking photos, recording data, consulting relevant departments and searching information on the Internet. This paper finds out the problems existing in the original traffic safety facilities, such as random location of safety facilities, uncoordinated planning and design of facilities and roads, and poor construction quality. To solve these problems, this paper puts forward a series of improved measures and methods from the aspects of traffic facilities design optimization, traffic facilities management and guarantee.
