Based on the formula student race vehicle, this paper takes the suspension system of Wuhan University of Technology formula student racecar as the research object. After establishing the dynamic model of the front suspension in ADAMS, the dynamic simulation is carried out. From the perspective of handling and stability, the sensitivity analysis and optimization design of the kingpin parameters are carried out with the change of wheel grounding angle and steering force as the optimization objectives. After that, the vehicle lap speed is simulated based on VI-CarRealTime, and the vehicle static camber is simulated and optimized. The research results show that the steering wheel righting torque of the optimized car during steering is effectively reduced to a reasonable range, and the change rate and amplitude of wheel inclination to road plane are reduced, which achieves the design goal and improves the handling performance of the car. At the same time, it is matched with the static camber to ensure the good adhesion between the tire and the ground.
