Magnetic resonance images may contain artifacts resulting from periodic movement such as cardiac and respiratory motion. The authors present some preliminary results of a new post-processing approach to the removal of motion artifacts. It is based around the TERA autoregressive moving average modeling algorithm. In addition they discuss the problems associated with generating a useful quantitative comparison between this new algorithm and the post processing techniques of Mitsa et al. (1990) and Hedley and Yan (1992). These problems are representative of those experienced by any researcher attempting to report on a new algorithm in an established image processing field.<>
