The More Electric Aircraft (MEA) emphasizes the utilization of electrical power to replace hydraulic power. And the electromechanical actuation is one of the key technologies for MEA. There are a lot of advantages when electromechanical actuators are used in civil aircraft, such as increasing the efficiency and reducing the take-off weight of aircraft. Furthermore, it also can shorten the production cycle and decrease operation and maintenance costs. So a great many of programs and researches are sponsored and proposed by governments, institutes and industries incessantly. The review in this paper focuses on the researches and application of electromechanical actuation systems using for aerospace and civil aircrafts.
