Active driveability control is a popular method to improve the drive comfort without impact on acceleration performance in modern vehicles. A new model reference approach had been proposed to damp driveline oscillation during tip-in manoeuvre. Then, this paper compared this proposed controller with the current active driveline controllers in this field, state space based torque control and PID speed control. The results of simulation are presented in figures. It was concluded that the new model reference controller had better performance in certain circumstances.
