A scene-based nonuniformity correction (NUC) algorithm for infrared focal plane arrays (IRFPA) is presented. In this algorithm, the infrared image sequence is decomposed by utilizing the Discrete Sequence Wavelet Transform. The corresponding statistics are calculated, and then the offset and the gain coefficients for IRFPA NUC are achieved ultimately. The algorithm achieves good NUC capability, which is validated with real experimental imaging procedures.
