The accuracy of ship draft detection must meet higher standards since it is a crucial link in the shipping industry. This paper proposes the Canny operator and Hough transform ship draft detection method to optimize the accuracy and efficiency of image processing technology in ship draft detection with the application of image processing technology in the field of draft detection. The ship's draught line is obtained after the edge of the ship's draught picture is extracted and processed using the linear detection technology of the Hough transform. The experimental results show that this method can swiftly determine the waterline and optimize the image processing technology, which is more conducive to the operation and safety of the ship, and has certain practical application significance.
