In the framework of an ESA GSTP de-risk activity, a breadboard of the Smart Power Supply (SPS) has been developed. The SPS is an onboard secondary power-conversion and distribution module. Each supply channel is a combination of two independent supply lines. One channel provides 3A of output current at an adjustable voltage from 0.8V up to 3.3V. The two supply lines operate with active redundancy at 50% of their nominal power. If one of the supply lines switches off because of a radiation effect, the second supply line immediately takes over the full-load current.
