Field-weakening control is essential to expand the speed range of Synchronous Reluctance Motors (SynRMs). This can be achieved by integrating a voltage controller with a current distribution algorithm. However, as the speed of motor increases, the coupling between the dq axes intensifies, significantly limiting its dynamic performance. Internal model control (IMC) serves as an effective decoupling technique to address this issue. This study proposes a control strategy that integrates IMC with a voltage closed-loop to ensure that SynRMs optimally operate at high speeds. The feasibility of the method is verified by simulation results.
