In an urban canyon setting error inducing near reflections tend to increase in number and can be mitigated by proper antenna design by spatial processing. As these reflections are more likely to come from low-angles to the ground a design that rejects these signals are less prone to multipath errors. The paper will focus on requirements for such a design. A successful design will also cutoff satellites coming at these angles thereby reducing the total number available. The increased interoperability of different GNSS systems now makes it possible to obtain the requisite number of satellites using a multi-system receiver from near-overhead sources. This design approach can also help reduce the interference from jamming and spoofing sources sitting close to the ground.
