This article develops a multiple-model-based adaptive control scheme to compensate for actuation sign faults of the flexible spacecraft using an error transformation. Multiple control signals are designed based on multiple estimators and an error transformation among estimation errors, tracking errors of estimators, and a virtual control error. A switching mechanism is established using a group of cost functions to choose the most proper control signal that can guarantee the desired system stability and asymptotic tracking performance.
