In this paper we analyze an alternative approach to the stabilization of the extra-high energy ultrashort pulses and explore the pulse energy limits of low-repetition rate Ti:sapphire oscillators operating within the positive GDD region. The numerical analysis based on the distributed generalized Ginzburg-Landau model has demonstrated that a source of the pulse stabilization is the negative passive feed-back caused by the spectral loss maintained by the chirp due to self-phase modulation.
