This paper describes additional high temperature mechanical property testing conducted as a continuation of work presented at the 2005 ASME IMECE. Finite element analysis (FEA) computer simulations depend on accurate mechanical property data for determination of the thermo-mechanical properties of wheel designs. Additional creep testing of wheel rim samples was conducted at various temperatures to determine the response of untreated and rim quenched AAR Class C wheel steel. Tests were described and data from the testing were reviewed and compared to past research efforts. Implications of the new data for FEA simulations was discussed.
