A multi-pass scheme with periodically poled KTiOPO/sub 4/ was employed to optimize the non-resonant frequency conversion of a non-planar monolithic ring Nd:YAG laser. We measured a normalized conversion efficiency as high as 27.3% W/sup -1/.
