OPO was demonstrated in periodically-poled MgO-doped stoichiometric LiTaO/sub 3/ with 35-mm length and 1-mm thickness. Slope efficiency was /spl sim/ 65 % at RT without photorefraction and maximum output power was 655 mW at 1.3 W pumping.
