Total Transfer Capability (TTC) and Available Transfer Capability (ATC) are crucial for determining the quantum of secure power flow under N-1 contingency from the State Grid through Interstate Transmission system (ISTS) Network and inter-connection lines with the neighboring States. The paper identifies the contingencies in the real interconnected network while evaluating ATC/TTC by the PSS/E Software. It recommends solutions about contingencies which could be addressed with load redistribution to neighboring substations and by genuine transmission network strengthening. The paper also proposes the priority of the contingency to mitigate the constraints in the network so that the uninterrupted supply could be ensured to the consumers of the State. Therefore, contingencies are ranked as per their effect on the sustainability and reliability of network.
