Speed control represents an important component in servo systems. Conventional speed control strategy based on Proportional-Integral (PI) control cannot simultaneously optimize response speed and control precision. To enhance the speed control performance of servo control systems, the article proposes a novel Laguerre functions Long-Horizon Model Predictive Speed Control strategy. The algorithm adopts an incremental speed prediction model, selects Laguerre basis functions to represent the control signal, and derives the optimal control signal through the resolution of a cost function. Furthermore, considering the current constraint of the motor, the quadratic programming problem can solve the final control signal. Finally, Experimental validation of the proposed method shows its effectiveness and feasibility compared to conventional cascaded PI control.
