Electronic equipment, installed in railway or underground transportation systems, is a victim of electromagnetic interference, generated from power distribution system and carborne converters. As different environments exist, according to power system (AC or DC, different voltages...) and kind of traction converters (chopper or inverter actuated vehicles), it is difficult to define general norms and immunity limits. Nevertheless, the availability of guidelines, to develop equipment, suitable to be installed in a great variety of systems, is of a vital importance, in order to provide cost effective solutions for present and future needs of railway and local transit. In fact, this is also a target in view of the realisation of a unified European transportation network, and several CENELEC working groups are debating on this subject. It is, therefore, of a great usefulness to collect data about noise, that actually affects electronic devices in transportation systems: this paper refers to conducted noise that can be measured at power and I/O interfaces of electronic equipment installed in control rooms of a modern underground line.
