Pareto dominance is at the core of multi-objective optimization, as it allows different objectives to be simultaneously considered and sets of non-dominated solutions to be built. However in real-time scheduling, determining and using such sets can be challenging. This paper introduces a variation of the commonly used Pareto dominance in the context of real-time rescheduling in a dense railway system. After presenting the industrial context, we describe the academic and industrial motivations in building a new concept of dominance. We then introduce a dominance based on payoff matrices. With this new concept, the size of non-dominated solution sets tends to be reduced and more acceptable solutions are proposed to decision-makers. Preliminary numerical results on industrial data are presented and discussed.
