The effect of roadway intersection design is strictly linked to a reduction in traffic congestion, fuel consumption and emissions in an urban area. This study is proposed a new traffic signal time in Al-Furqan intersection in Fallujah city, Iraq. The study includes an examination and comparison of current and proposed traffic situations. According to the findings, a cycle length of 120 seconds was the best-proposed traffic signal to provide a better performance with less delay and improved level of service. The study presents a comparative result of the typical unsignalized four-legged intersection operational performance for effective management. The intersection has been improved in term of level of service, delay, queue length, gas emission, and fuel consumption. These improvements can be important for stakeholder, and academic researcher for making traffic intersection more sustainable.
