• A state-based CD&R concept is pursued that fills the gap between strategic, trajectory-based deconfliction and the time-critical collision avoidance maneuvers • To minimize the time between maneuver selection and execution, the concept eliminates the involvement of the pilot from the maneuver/trajectory specification through integration of the CD&R function with the GNC system • The concept relies on the real-time computation of the trajectory that must be flown to circumvent the conflict space and return to the original path • This enables the maneuver to be flown in a path-based mode rather than a sequence of reference directions • With the proposed concept, the pilot is continuously aware of the available options and has full insight into the resolution trajectory that will be flown, not just the maneuver direction
