In this paper, for the characteristics of railway transportation in mountainous areas, the traction power supply system scheme is selected to be compatible with it. It elaborates on the composition of traction substations and cable traction networks within this power supply structure. The paper analyzes the capacitive effects of cable traction networks and the necessity of compensating cable capacitance reactive power. It proposes a multi-substation reactive power coordinated compensation control scheme based on a central controller. Based on the negative sequence compensation principle of the co-phase supply device, a collaborative compensation strategy combining cable reactive power compensation with traction load negative sequence compensation is introduced. Finally, a simulation model of the power supply system for a certain mountainous railway line is established. Simulation of the coordinated compensation control strategy for substations yields satisfactory compensation results overall, validating the feasibility of the compensation approach.
