With the continuous expansion of production and transportation scale of enterprises, and the complex and changeable workflow, the current railway transportation dispatching system has fallen far short of satisfying the demands of the enterprises' ongoing development. How optimize the transportation dispatching system to improve quality and efficiency, and ensure safety and reliability is an urgent problem to be solved. Firstly, this paper discusses the characteristics of the railway transportation dispatching system, analyzes the typical transportation workflow in detail, and the Petri Net theory which is suitable for describing concurrent, synchronous, and resource-competitive systems is proposed to analyze the system. Secondly, a typical complex business system is selected as an example and modeled using Petri Net, performance analysis and correctness validation of the model are realized, and an optimization strategy is proposed. Finally, the simulation results show and verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the Petri Net theory applied to the complex system of enterprise railroad transportation dispatching, which provides theoretical support for optimizing business processes and scientific model support for the system design and development.
