The parking availability discrimination system installed at the Niikura Parking Area (NPA) is described. In this system, images of ten CCTV cameras located in the parking area (PA) are connected to the image processors and remote supervision monitors, and both of which are utilised for automatic vehicle extraction by image processing. Then, the parking availability discriminator gathers the detection results from these image processors and decides the parking status for each of the small and large vehicle parking areas by the number of parked vehicles occupied in the areas being monitored. The function and specification of each part of the system are described.<>
