This paper presents the main features of SENER's Centralized Power Supply Unit (CPSU) for active antenna systems. The CPSU conditions power from the primary bus to deliver regulated voltage to RF loads. Additionally, the CPSU routes telecommands from the On-Board Computer (OBC) to the RF loads via bus CAN (or other digital links), as well as provides telemetries in the opposite direction. The present document gives an overview of the unit, its interfaces, and capabilities to perform in the highly demanding telecom market. In addition, tradeoffs, and justification, considering also RF loads performance, for using centralized power generation and distribution for Rx RF equipment is addressed, focusing on cost competitiveness, mass optimization and reliability. Additional emphasis is put on load overcurrent protection, where a SPICE model has been used to size and check compatibility of fuses with the possible load scenarios. Finally, some of the qualification results of the unit are presented.
