This work presents a column generation approach for solving the service network design Problem involving hybrid fleets of electric and fuel-powered trucks. The proposed model aims to minimize the total operational and transportation costs while accounting for product flows, vehicle capacities, and battery constraints in large-scale freight transportation networks. The hybrid fleet comprises electric trucks, which require periodic recharging, and fuel-powered trucks, both of which operate over a network of service, charging, and recirculating arcs. To manage the complexity of the problem, we decompose it into a master problem and two subproblems-one for each truck type-solved iteratively within a column generation framework. The master problem determines optimal product flows and truck assignments, while the subproblems generate cost-efficient service paths for electric and fuel-powered trucks. Dual variables from the master problem guide the subproblem optimization, ensuring that new columns, representing truck routes, are added to the master problem only if they improve the objective. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach in achieving cost-efficient fleet coordination in a hybrid network. The results show that the method can handle large-scale instances efficiently and significantly reduce operational costs for logistics companies adopting both electric and fuel-powered trucks.
