A field hydraulic data collection program was conducted in Delaware Bay, Chesapeak and Delaware (C&D) Canal, and Chesapeake Bay from 6 October 1992 through 13 October 1993. During this period three water level recorders, twenty salinity meters, and four fixed-depth current meters were deployed and maintained for the entire study period. The current meters and water level recorders also measured salinity. In October 1992 and again in April 1993, intensive over-the-side measurements were made for a 2-week period from five boats stationed at various locations within Delaware Bay, C&D Canal, and Chesapeake Bay. From each boat, hourly vertical profiles were made at three to five stations. The vertical profiles consisted of current speed, salinity, and water samples at five depths (three depths if the water depth was less than 35 ft). The water samples were analyzed for salinity in the laboratory to verify salinities measured by the the current meters. These data are to be used in the verification of numerical models of Delaware Bay. Appendix A presents the data collection equipment and laboratory analysis procedures._x000D_ _x000D_ NOTE: This file is large. Allow your browser several minutes to download the file.
