The method includes: obtaining an elevation angle and a yaw angle of a light source, where the elevation angle indicates an included angle between a direction in which light of the light source is emitted to the target vehicle and a horizontal plane, and the yaw angle indicates an included angle between a connection line between a projection of the light source on the horizontal plane and a centroid of the target vehicle, and a driving direction of the target vehicle; obtaining location information of a target object; obtaining a projection area projected by the target object on the variable transmittance glass based on the location information of the target object, and the elevation angle and the yaw angle of the light source, where the target object is located in the target vehicle.
