A mobile, energy-storing DC fast charger may be easily moved from a low-cost charging hub to a different secondary vehicle-charging location. This allows grid charging to occur at a remote, low-cost location that does not require the electrical service upgrades that would be necessary for construction of a new charging station at a location where it is desired to serve EV customers. Once charged at the low-cost hub, a mobile unit may be delivered to various remote locations for charging of electric vehicles at a low total lifecycle cost. The mobile units may be configured to provide AC and DC services for electric customers in addition to the EV services. Examples of such services include the supply of electric generation capacity for utilities and peak-shaving services for commercial and industrial customers, the provision of temporary power for construction facilities, and backup power to off-grid customers.
