The apparatus can include a battery cell arranged in the battery pack. The battery cell can have a housing that defines a cavity within the housing of the battery cell. The battery cell can have an electrolyte having a first side and a second side to transfer lithium ions between the first side and the second side. The electrolyte can be arranged within the cavity. The battery cell can have an anode disposed within the cavity along the first side of the electrolyte. The battery cell can have a composite cathode disposed within the cavity along the second side of the electrolyte. The composite cathode can include a mixture of a NCA material and a NCM material.
