The rotor carrier includes an axially extending cylindrical section including an outer circumferential surface having an annular groove formed therein. A method of forming a rotor carrier includes forming, by stamping, a rotor carrier including an axially extending cylindrical section including an outer circumferential surface having annular groove formed therein.
