The present disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for generating a virtual stop line. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, provided is a method for generating a virtual stop line, which comprises the steps of: determining a target crosswalk among one or more crosswalks on a driving path; setting a region of interest for the target crosswalk; and determining whether to generate a virtual stop line based on a position of a pedestrian in the region of interest.
