The present invention provides a fuel efficiency improvement system for fuel cell vehicles and a control method thereof. According to the present invention, the fuel efficiency improvement system for fuel cell vehicles comprises: fuel cells which provide driving energy to a vehicle; an information collection unit which collects information on the vehicle's travel path, including at least one of the altitude, speed limit, and traffic conditions of the road between the origin and destination; and a controller which divides the vehicle's travel path into a plurality of sections based on the vehicle's travel path information collected in the information collection unit, establishes a fuel cell power generation strategy for each of the plurality of sections separately, and controls the fuel cell power generation in accordance with the established fuel cell power generation strategy when the vehicle reaches each section.

    차량에 구동에너지를 제공하는 연료전지, 출발지와 목적지 사이 도로의 고도, 제한 속도 및 교통 상황 중 적어도 하나 이상을 포함하는 차량의 이동 경로 정보를 수집하는 정보수집부 및 정보수집부에 수집된 차량의 이동 경로 정보를 통해 차량의 이동 경로를 복수의 구간으로 구분하고, 구분된 복수의 구간마다 개별적으로 연료전지의 발전 전략을 수립하며, 차량이 각 구간에 도달하는 경우 수립된 연료전지의 발전 전략에 따라 연료전지의 발전을 제어하는 제어기를 포함하는 연료전지 차량의 연비 향상시스템 및 그 제어방법이 소개된다.
